COBIT AND HABIT

COBIT stands for Control Objective for IT. This is a short COBIT framework to determine the IT management process that fits in a company. HABIT whereas the mean is a good management framework for Personal and organization offered by Stephen Covey in his book 7 Habits of Effective People, and
continued in the 8th Habit book.COBIT in version 4, there are 34 IT Process is divided into four domains. the "Planning & Organizing" which contains such planning Proses2 Strategic IT Plan, IT budget planning, Acquire & Implement containing implementation processes such as analysis, design and implementation of software, which contains the Deliver & Support support processes such as SLA management, maintenance, monitoring & Evaluate containing processes such as monitoring of contracts, contract compliance with the law etc.. Each IT Process Maturity Level has composed over five levels, namely none at all, just started, again and again, but intuitive, has a procedure, monitored and reviewed existing procedures for future development. Some large companies small and large scale, regardless of the location and position in the geographical map of the world are at the most repetitive yet intuitive. This means that most companies implement IT processes do not have the procedure but simply a habit of recurring.In the 7 Habits, Stephen Covey asserts that the organization's progress and development of organizational mission is a statement made by all parties. Not only from the top down. 8th habit in his book, Stephen divides into several levels of development of civilization era. Of hunting, farming, industry, and ultimately wisdom. Until the 20th century, many companies still apply the industrial mindset where the man is lower than the engine. if you buy the machine is an investment, but buying (read pay) workers are a burden. Inevitably this led to a lot of thought that makes workers and owners of capital as the party was never able to get along. The mindset of the management was more reward and punishment. Control is strictly enforced. But it ended in the 21st century where creativity becomes the main pillar of the company. Covey explains that the results are much better oriented than process oriented. Allow your subordinates to develop. Control on results, not process.Glance there is a big difference if the philosophy is applied in the HABIT COBIT and IT management processes. Although IT itself is the object, network, infrastructure, IT also has a human brainware or executor. Even more important is the information contained in the IT. But if the information contained within IT is information marketing, human resources, financial, you can imagine what happens if the company's IT infrastructure was destroyed. COBIT emphasizes strict control, while HABIT emphasize flexibility to achieve results. This has probably led to many companies in the world of IT procedures which apply only to the scale over and over again, but intuitive. But that does not mean control is needed.
